PUBG Global Tournament
The Global Champion team will receive $200,000 and the runner-up will get $100,000.

PUBG Corp. and Tencent announced their next tournament event of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for the mobile version.

“PUBG Mobile Star Challenge” is what the tournament is called, which is a global event bringing players together from all around the world. There are a total of six regions, including North America, South America, Japan, Europe, Asia, and China. As a prerequisite, you need to have more than 1,000 social followers to participate in this event.

PUBG Popularity:

PUBG hit PC last year and got highly popular among gamers who prefer to play online. The numbers increased when mobile versions on iOS and Android hit the market. PUBG Mobile has over 100 million downloads.

eSports events like this one help promote the game, grow its audience, and attract sponsors.

Teams will need to compete in regional finals, with the first one being hosted in Kiev, Ukraine from Sept 29th to 30th. The winning teams from each region will then have a face off against each other at the end of this year in Dubai.

PUBG Tournament Reward:

Let’s talk about the bounty; the Global Champion team will receive $200,000 and the runner-up a $100,000. The second runner-up team will get $50,000. That’s not all; Regional Final Champions get $20,000, Regional Runners-up $15,000, and the team on the third spot $10,000.

The tournament is supported by the sponsors like Samsung Galaxy Note 9

(Title Sponsor).

Note: Tencent also announced that PUBG Mobile is available on Samsung Galaxy Apps now. PUBG Mobile and Fortnite are available on Samsung’s app store.

Future Goals:

In 2019, PUBG Corp. is planning to establish professional leagues in Asia, Europe, North America, and Korea, which could expand to other countries and continents depending on the success of the first four regions. The announcement could be part of the company’s five-year plan for PUBG esports, which includes regional professional leagues and revenue sharing for four major regions.

Competitive games have become more conventional in recent years, with tournaments broadcast on ESPN. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is a popular Fortnite streamer and professional gamer who receives official covers for ESPN: The Magazine.

eSports is becoming a crucial sector in gaming. According to the research from a market researcher Newzoo, eSports could cross a total worth of $906 million this year. eSports events mostly focus on PC versions and gaming consoles. There are not much gaming tournaments that focus on mobile. Mobile gaming is more popular in Asia.

Happy Gaming!
