The ride-hailing company, Lyft is back in competition with one of the first and most liked services, Uber. Lyft recently made it to its milestone of one billion rides and came up with good news for all its riders.

Lyft is all set to launch a loyalty program for its valued customers through ‘Reward Rides.’

You can now earn points for every dollar that you spend. Want to know how it works?
Lyft Rewards will be rolling out in December 2018, where riders can earn various perks on each ride. Lyft will be giving out points to its riders which can be used later to upgrade to a better car, a more experienced driver, or getting some free points on upcoming rides. Users can unlock rewards as soon as they succeed in accumulating a given number of points.
Initially, Lyft is going to select some passengers to honor them with loyalty reward rides. Lyft is going to send emails to riders who can get benefit from the free rides. Also, the company started a campaign that ensures riders that they are being heard. The company is initially offering a lot of perks and is promising to fine-tune eventually. Lyft is going to add more and more value to this program by considering the suggestions and requests from its valued customers.
This idea of offering loyalty subscriptions is not new and has been led by none other than people’s favorite, Uber. Uber started from promotion codes and a bonus for riders and drivers respectively and now have come to the UberEats dining. Undoubtedly, the transportation service provider has come a long way. Therefore, Lyft, following the footsteps is all ready to offer such subscriptions and rewards for its regular riders.
Lyft also introduced its subscriptions for business users where users can earn a $5 point on every business ride. Also, the company has partnered with Delta Airlines to provide extra airline miles for regular riders. The company came up with an All Access Plan in October, to facilitate its riders.
With Uber and Lyft trying everything to gain customer loyalty, we see the services industry going to a whole new direction. What do you think?
