Google has posted the Android distribution chart showing stats of the month of September. Android 9.0 (Pie) was launched in early August and was initially available for Pixel and Pixel 2 devices.

Android Distribution of each Version:

Pie now available for OnePlus 6, Nokia 7 Plus and Essential Phone. Despite adding these phones, Android Pie is nowhere to be seen in the Android distribution chart Google released. Android Pie is surprisingly below 0.1 percent distribution.

Android Oreo, however, received a notable jump at 13.4% from 11.4% and version 8.1 from 3.2% to 5.8%. If we combine these two numbers, we have 19.2% which makes this version the third most used in Android devices.

Android Nougat 7.0 and 7.1 are dominating the distribution stats in all mid-range and lower range devices. It also fell slightly to 29.3% from 30.08%. It is still the most popular Android in the market.

The other versions include Android Marshmallow at 21.6% making it the second famous/used version of Android. Lollipop at 18.3%. KitKat at 7.8% and Jelly Bean at 3.2%. Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread are at 0.3% each.

These numbers are compiled from Android devices that accessed the Play Store during a seven-day period ending on September 28th.

Besides the revised Android distribution numbers, Google has also shared the latest data of OpenGL ES adoption. OpenGL 3.2 is at 34.7 percent taking the first spot.

OpenGL 3.0 is at 30.1 percent, while OpenGL 2.0 is taking the third slot by capturing a 21.6 percent share.

We hope to see an increase in the numbers of Android 9.0 Pie in a few months!
